I'm in the midst of strategicly furnishing my first casita here in QRO and am attempting to do it with mostly antique, used, or artisan pieces while being extremely budget conscious!  Any suggestions?  I've become a regular of the non-profit Merced's thrift store, and Bazar Dandi, plus a great treasure trove of misfit stuff off the side of the highway on the other side of SMA, and the Clasificados Contacto.  But I'm hoping there's a lot more out there thta I'm just not finding advertised online?!?! (For instance, does anyone advertise their garage sales? Antique shops with great deals?) Thanks for your help!

Congratulations on your plan to visit Queretaro. It is Mexico's best kept secret.
To help with your search for a place to stay I would have to know more about how long you plan to stay, the dates, type o accomodation etc.

Greetings from Puerto Vallarta! My husband and I will be spending a few months this winter in the colonial highlands of Mexico and plan on visiting Queretaro. We have been ex-pats for over 13 years and will be looking for a new living venue on our excursion. I am currently a member of the Oaxaca Group on My-Space where we have lived and also have a blog site. Any recommendations and suggestions regarding where to stay in Queretaro for "longish" term and what to see and do would be sincerely appreciated. Saludos! Laura

I will be moving there in June with my Boyfriend who is from there. I have heard nothing but great things about Queretaro!
