Greetings All: I am in my final days living in Cabo San Lucas before re-locating to Puerto Vallarta in mid-January. I'll be working with a financial institution which provides investment services to companies like El Cid Resorts and Trump Properties; we are opening our Global Headquarters office in Marina Vallarta.  I am looking forward to learning about the area and meeting new friends.

To Val Frost,
I just got my driver license. You do it at Plaza Marina. You need to comprobante de domicilio, (CFE or TELMEX) copy of the main page of your Passport, blood type and take the test. I did not have to drive but sometimes they make you drive. $450 Pesos and it took about 45 minutes.

Would love to know if anyone has spent much time in Tepic, Nayarit. Want to visit for possible retirement locale. Any info much appreciated. I do read Cliff and Alice Anderson's blog daily. They have lived there many years. Just trying to get other opinions.

My friend and her fiance are coming for a visit and would like to have a wedding ceremony (not the legal one) here. Does anyone know of an English speaking person that can provide this service? Thanks. Val

We have allready brought down a ton of stuff. It only cost us a few snickers at the boarder. A neighbor said she was at a meeting and legally you have to have an FM3 to own property in Mexico. We drive back and forth so don't need to leave our car here, yet. Hopefully we will be able to fly at some point.

There is no real need to have an FM3 if you are not here full time. It does help if you need to open some bank accounts but if you are here for six months or less and have no plans of being here full time, I wouldn't get one. If you plan on moving down permanently, get it right before you move if you plan on bringing down a ton of stuff.

A question for you folks. What are the pros and cons of getting an FM3?
