It is considered rude in Mexico to answer QUE!!??? WHAT?
if someone calls you...
You are taught when you are little that is is good manners to answer " mande"?? Mande is from the verb MANDAR - which means to send, or to tell someone what to do ...." lo mande cerrar la puerta " I sent him to close the door...so when you answer, mande? that means, what would you like me to do!!?? Instead of answering WHAT???? You yell QUEEEEEEEE when you are mad..and you probably get your ears boxed!!
They also say, mande, a sus ordenes....en que le puedo servir?
Guero is someone with blonde or light hair, or light eyes (man) and a Guera is a blondie...woman...

"Manday" is like "Pardon me" or "Could you repeat that"
And "el guero" means something like "blondie" (masculine)

Just a couple of the little words and sayings I've picked up...

For the first couple of years we lived in Mexico, my husband and I were confused when we heard the following:

¡'Pérame tantito! and "Porfa"

We later learned these are shorthand forms of ¡Espérame tantito!(Wait for me a minute) and "Por favor" (please).

We were also confused by the many words ending in "-ito" as in:

ratito (a little while...as in a little time...diminutive form of "rato")
chiquita (little girl or affectionate term for one´s girlfriend...diminutive form of "chica)
poquito (a little bit...diminutive form of "poco")
cafecito (a cup of coffee or a little coffee....diminutive form of "cafe")
hijito (affectionate name for one's son...diminutive form of "hijo")

and many others.
