You can't do much better given it's location, pricepoint, quality of management, etc. There are lots of others, but Ollin rates at the top in my opinion. I'm always up for ideas on where/how to travel around the area, restaurants, places to stay, etc. The usual. I'm excited as I've wanted to visit Oaxaca for years, I'm an artist & photographer so know I will fall in love.....

10 am tickets to the Guelaguetza, yes. No rain. But the nighttime performance is different: La Leyenda de Donaji. It's spectacular and might be worth taking a chance.

One Dead, 8 Injured in Explosion on 3rd Anniversary of Oaxaca Revolt

OAXACA, Mexico – One person died and eight were injured when a car transporting fireworks and gasoline for use in making Molotov cocktails exploded in the southern Mexican city of Oaxaca during violence on the third anniversary of the six-month revolt here in 2006, union officials said on Sunday.
