Looking to retire in MX in 2 years. Parents have lived in San Miguel de Allende for over 15 years. Life has been good to them. We want a good life, a quality of life and a life we can have on our limited retirement. We will search until we find just the right spot.
How did you hear about Mexico-My Space?

Hi Becki! My MOM comes from the Hill Country so I noticed that in your notes! You will love it down here. We all do. I lived for over 25 years in England and find the life here a wonderful change! I am in Rentals so if there is anything I can do to help you make the transition let me know. You can call me on 214 810 9461 as I keep a Dallas # through the purchase of a nifty little gadget called magicjack that plugs into my laptop! I'd definitely reccommend you buy one before y'all come down.
Take care and let me know if there's anything I can do to help you.
Oh! You might like to know of the online Puerto Vallarta newpaper which has lots of interesting news, ads and classifieds. It's called Banderas News. ( Banderas Bay, not Bandera Tx! lol! ) If nothing else it might give you an idea of things here.
Of course this social network is a good tool as well.
Becki... Yes I got the comment you left.. it's pronounced...
Tlash...ca..la.. and in Nahuatl Indian language it means.. "the land of the corn bread (tortillas)"
It's probably easier for me to write through the Tlaxcalatourism site. keep in touch. Bob
Thanks for adding me as a friend. I have just been googling the Tlaxcala area and it sure looks inviting. (how does one pronounce Tlaxcala, phonetically please?) We will plan many more trips in the future....but for now we are concentrating on Jalisco, simply because we had to start somewhere. I feel sure our next trip will be to your area.
Please feel free to let me know when you are in the New Braunfels area next....we live in Wimberley and are in NB a lot.
Becki... I usually hang out in New Braunfels when I go to Texas..havent been there in a year or so . Texas Heat is too much...consider Tlaxcala... high plains, about 6 t0 7000 ft above sealevel, the high today was 72...the low tonight will be about 53. Puebla, an hour away has a fair size American population because of the University of the Americas and large Industrial Complex... also many Germans (Volkswagen), 3rd descendant Italians (Dairy farmers in Chipilo, just outside of town) and Lebanese who have been around about a hundred years.
