Good discussion, Doug, don't know why everyone isn't jumping in. Yes, the buyers we're seeing here in Los Cabos are a different breed of bottom feeder... You and I had that experience earlier this year. As memory serves your buyer offered about 40...

Tell us about yourself, type of business, last employment
After building a vacation home in Cabo San Lucas my husband and I finally took the plunge and moved to Mexico full time about nine years ago. I am a real estate broker, the owner of Realty Executives Los Cabos and the real estate writer for Los Cabos Magazine. The best part of my work is helping others find their Mexican dream; many former clients have become good friends. Bob and I share our home with two Boston Terriers who aren't a bit spoiled. OK, just a bit spoiled. In fact, if you could ask them they'd admit to sharing THEIR home with us humans.

An Open Letter To Buyers

My Go-To mortgage broker Tina Rebello and I are working on a new form letter for our shared website, explaining how we will work with the client once they sign in for information. I like the draft so much I’m going to post it here for the world to see, and then add some extra comments at the end.

Dear Client,

It is with great pride and pleasure that Realty Executives and Conficasa Mortgage International of Los Cabos extend to you the real estate and financing services available for your poten… Continue

But We Have To Sell It Twice!! (Putting a Price on Your Home)

Here’s the thing: these days we’re selling homes not once, but twice. And it’s not an easy sale.

It’s no secret our market is ‘challenged’. This is the worst downturn I’ve experienced. Period. There are very few buyers, and many of them are looking to finance their property. We have great cross-border mortgage companies and the interest rates are the lowest ever. So you’d think that would be good news, right? But it isn’t.

About 95% or even more of the properties in Los Cabos are owned out-rig… Continue

A Historic Day for the Los Cabos Real Estate Industry

On Wednesday, November 18, 2009 three historic meetings took place in Los Cabos, Mexico culminating in one unified voice for the real estate industry. The new organization will be part of the national real estate organization AMPI.

In the new organization agents will have a voice and voting rights; brokers will continue to police ethical infractions. The education platform will be expanded, and as a result of AMPI’s association with NAR agents and brokers in Mexico will have access to more educ… Continue

Save With Supermarket Souvenirs!

You know how some people have regular passports that have 24 pages and others have the jumbo 48 pager? My sis needs a ‘super jumbo’. She’s often traveling the globe to attend conferences or give lectures or both. A tip she’s taught me is to always visit the local supermarket (or equivalent). Number on… Continue

Thank you Carol! And I know a Billups from my past but just can't place it right now. It's tough being a Bears fan nowadays. I'd love to join you all in Mex someday soon.

Hi Carol -
To get the RE logo on your Mexico My Space page - go to "manage my page" and there select Appearance (which you have probably already done) Scroll down to "Now, make it unique" and select the "all options" tab. Under 'header image' you can select an image to upload and either tile or put in once.

If you want a few different photos like I have, I made it using Adobe Elements - so if you have some kind of photo editor that will allow you to make the size you need. I made the left side of the image transparent, or the 'Mexico My Space' text obscured the images and just didn't look right. The image fits nicely at 125 x 955 pixels.

You seem to know your way around the web, so I suspect you have access to photo editing software - but if you don't - feel free to email me the pics you want and I can quickly use the same template to put one together for you and email it back.

I am going to be able to spend my resources, experience and passion in many areas which is exciting~
