Yes, Chris, i still live in Jocotepec.  To get you started on some information about this area, why don't you check out my blog.  i had some serious health issues a couple of years ago and pretty much quit posting, but change comes slowly to Jocotepec so the writings are still relevant for the most part.

If you would like additional information, please contact me through the blog and include your email address and we can communicate more.  Here is the link that takes you to my blog.  Just scroll down past my personal information and you'll see the list of my postings.  https://bigskysouthernsky.wordpress.com/author/bhopkins20/

Hi Chris!  Sounds like you're making a good decision to come & check out the area with a view to making a decision about retiring here.  My husband (who's from Mexico City) & I moved here from Florida eight years ago & absolutely love it.  Lake Chapala is, as you know, ranked as one of the best retirement destinations &, once you see for yourself, you'll understand why.  We'd be delighted to offer you hospitality when you come to check out the area & help you as much as possible find answers to all your questions.  Our business email is info@ajijicsuites.com, so when you're ready to think about reservations, just drop us a line & we'll see what we can offer you.  If you're thinking of coming after October, I do need to warn you that you need to make a reservation at least 4-5 months in advance.  We offer very competitive monthly rates (between US$500- UD$800 inc taxes) &, if you can spare the time, a month should give you a good idea of the area & whether it's right for you.  Hope this helps & that you're looking forward to retirement.  If you decide to move here, it will be anything but quiet & boring!  There's so much going on, lots of activities & charitable organisations to which you can donate some of your time that I recommend guests to think twice before saying "yes" to everything as it can be overwhelming!  An agenda is essential!  Have a good week-end & kind regards.
