Drinking water and purifying.

I am puzzled. In Canada I draw my water from a lake, a dirty lake near the sewage treatment plant. My water runs through a couple filters then a beam of UV light. It is just a cheap kit from Canadian…Continue

Medical care for uninsured snowbird while in Mexico.

Anyone know what would happen to me if I had a "catastrophic" medical problem like a heart attack or stroke while in Mexico? I'm using an FM3 and suffer from quadraplegia. Travel insurance for the 6…Continue

"That is interesting. I sure would love to get off the drinking water jugs routine and this one $90 kit purified our entire system but wonder if the tank system we have in Gdl. isn't compatible. Sterisil should still work on individual tap i…"

"There is a store in La Paz, Baja California Sur that sells filtration units for water coming into  omes. I do not think so expensive. I have a friend in Los Barilles, B.C.S. who brought a Canadian Tire type kit from the U.S."

I am puzzled. In Canada I draw my water from a lake, a dirty lake near the sewage treatment plant. My water runs through a couple filters then a beam of UV light. It is just a cheap kit from Canadian Tire but purifies all the water. In Guadalajara I buy jug after jug which is a pain in the butt for numerous reasons. I used to use a Sterisil before that and, at least, had drinking water. I don't understand why we are still in the Aqua Ciel era when water purification has advanced so far. Our…See More

Anyone know what would happen to me if I had a "catastrophic" medical problem like a heart attack or stroke while in Mexico? I'm using an FM3 and suffer from quadraplegia. Travel insurance for the 6 or 7 months I spend in Mexico for someone with my medical history is out of my financial capability. My friend says the General Hospital system would still treat me but I'd like another opinion. Anyone know?See More

I'm disabled and cannot leave the house plus I hurt badly during the Canadian winter. That being said, I just love Mexico anyway. I live on pension but the family I live with sell medical devices and health bath products. Bathcaps that wash and condition your hair without requiring rinsing for people that can't get out of bed. Bath clothes that give much better cleaning of people that are in bed yet requires no water. Finger Pulse Oximeters that measure oxygen saturation of blood plus take patients pulse rate. I have personally used these and they work. They save caregivers huge amounts of time and effort. The dignity they provide is important to Seniors or anyone who has difficulty getting into showers. Use these on vacation and camping just to stay clean with grease-free hair or use it for removal of EEG Gel, blood and iodine.

I was Payroll Manager at Bell Canada in my pre-pension days.

Cheers, Dave
