"I have lived full time in San Felipe, Baja Mexico for 6 years. According to the map I am in a high crime area. I think the purple area of the Baja could use a little adjustment. The only crime we are even aware of here is theft."

“Experience You Can Trust”

Don & Linda have always worked as a team- at work, at home and at play.

Searching for our “Place in the Sun” began with the purchase of a promising piece of desert in Arizona, (bought while in Rome) while we were spending a joyful 4 ½ months touring Europe a year after we married. (Unlike most deals today, there was a one year money back guarantee – we took it- and learned a lot.)

It was an easy decision to buy our home in the Ajijic/Chapala in 1996 after investigating and comparing many retirement havens over the years.

We combine our corporate and medical experience, plus many years of sales, marketing and customer service and our love of people to introduce visitors to the many pleasures of Lakeside Living.

Christmas Concert in Ajijic, Mexico with Los Cantantes del Lago

Los Cantantes del Lago , a choir of both very talented  foreigners and Mexicans practice diligently  to bring the Ajijic community an inspiring Christmas Concert at the local auditorium. Two sold out performances. Perhaps there should have been three. The linked video gives you just a taste of the quality talent we have in the area along with a few members of Guadalajara’s Philharmonic Orchestra, just forty minutes away.

Crime and Safety in Mexico- by Area

Most of us in Mexico get annoyed at the overdone media “bad news” we hear about “Mexico” –

the country, when most of it pertains to isolated or specific areas of the country. Yes, Ciudad Juarez, at the border, in Chihuahua, is a very troubled area with rampant drug related crime. We never suggest Americans or Canadians visit or cross the border there.

However, look at the attached map; there are many green and yellow areas of the country of…

Hola Don and Linda! I am still unpacking my memories and I must RAVE about your professional service in closing my real estate in four days! Also, MUCHO GRACIAS for the recipes, the lunches and your enthusiasm for Chapala! I am planning my next trip and have met another couple from Stockton who are looking to re-locate. We are meeting for lunch in Stockton next week. They have your name via my blog - and my delight in knowing that I am blessed to have connected with both of you. New Years eve was very special - WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE to see you! We were rushing to catch out fide.

Thanks Don and Linda! I have a video on health care coming out in a day or two. I'm glad you enjoyed the other videos. They're a labor of love and Steve Miller did a great job on the TallBoys video--especially Somewhere in Mexico.

I agree, the people from Ajijic and Chapala do seem under-represented, especially since we have the largest expat community outside of the U.S. and Canada. It's still a best kept secret. :)

Will you be at La Tasca on Friday when the TallBoys play? Maybe I'll see you there?

Thanks for the add Don & Linda!! Yeah Sherwood Park is a great place to raise kids but the older I get (and my kids get) the more I want to get out of Canadian winters...lol. Youngest daughter is just going into Grade 11 and I am starting to work on transitioning my sons into my businesses so that I can "get outta Dodge".......haven't been to the Chalapa area......can you tell me more about it when you get a second?
