We've never been to Zihua, but are thinking about retiring to San Miguel. We're going to do an exploration trip driving from CA this winter. Suggestions about towns/ places to see? We love the art community/beauty of San M;iguel, but are interested…
I'm definitely interested in more about Health Insurance in Mexico-- different types, how to apply, WHERE to apply, etc. I think this web site is grand! I'm trying to convince my partner to live in San Miguel at least 1/2 time (now, that's what's ca…

Hi: I live here in SMA. I noticed the photo you used for your personal picture. I tried to take the same picture from the patio at the Instituto but couldn't get the clear picture you managed to take. I am jealous. Hope you enjoy your exploring. When back in SMA drop me a line and we can have coffee or a drink.
You will certainly enjoy Mexico. Without getting into much detail, here are a couple of thoughts.
When heading for SMA you may want to check out Guadalajara and just 1/2 hour south- the Ajijic - Chapala area.(where we are) - lots of Art, with Pottery, Wood, Metal, Stone etc. (also lots foreigners- and amenities.) Let us know if we can answer any questions on this area.
Before you get to Oaxaca you may want to check out www.oaxacadream.com by a friend, Alvin Starkman, from Toronto- lots of local knowledge-has a B&B, as you will see. (We have not got their yet but will on our next trip from Ajijic.)
Am inviting him to join M-MS.- Cheers
Hi Kathe,
Have you ever consider Baja California Sur? There is a beautiful, historic town here less than an hour from Cabo San Lucas called Todos Santos. It has the distinguished honor of being named a Pueblo Magico by the Mexican government and is chocked full of artists, galleries, great restaurants and beautiful vistas. Charming historic buildings and a very large, active American /Canadian community that are instyrumental in bringing many cultural events to the town as well.
I have posted photos of the town on my website, if you'd like a look see. wwww.forsaleinbaja.com.- Look under Gallery
I have a real estate office there as well, and I would be happy to answer any question, and be of any assistance. AND it is just a hop-sjip and a jump from the US...Direct flights into La Paz and Los Cabos.

Thanks for posting, and you're absolutely right about Ceneval (the exam discussed in the original blog) needing to take us into consideration and also about the lack of training. I wish we had a mandatory exam, which would go something like this...Q…
