This blog has been created in order to share my passions, interests, and experiences in living the expatriate life predominately in the Latin world of Mexico, Central America, and South America . Having lived and traveled in many Latin countries during the last thirteen years I felt it was time to reach out to those who have similar interests or curiosity relating to the places we have lived. Welcome and I look forward to meeting you! Laura

OAXACA CITY FAVORITES

WELCOME TO WONDERFUL OAXACA CITY!!! ( GO TO MY BLOG FOR OAXACA SIDESHOW)

Welcome to Oaxaca City! My husband and I are currently living “La Vida Buena” in Oaxaca City which is the capital of the state of Oaxaca. Oaxaca is a vibrant and exciting city which combines beautiful and historical Spanish colonial buildings with traditional residential and commercial areas. This blog is NOT a professional tourist guidebook nor does it contain any hidden agenda. It is simple my personal take on this amazi… Continue

PUERTO ESCONDIDO AND HUATULCO: OAXACA PACIFIC COAST BEACHES

As much as we love living in Oaxaca City, the exciting and beautiful colonial city and capital of the state of Oaxaca, we often feel the draw of the wonderful Pacific coast beaches of Puerto Escondido and Bahias de Huatulco which are also located in the state of Oaxaca. As native born and life long residents of Southern California, it is difficult, if not completely imp… Continue

Hi Laura,

I'm glad whatever information you found in your search was helpful. Check out our web site (www.mexican-living-guanajuato.com) for more pertinent information about Guanajuato.

Have you found anything to rent yet? If you have questions about locations, please feel free to ask. I may be able to tell you something about the area.

How long will you be in Guanajuato? Just for November?

I'd be interested in hearing about your adventures living in Latin America.

Take care!

Hi Laura,

I don't know if these will fit your budget, but also try La Casa de Doña Ana (www.lacasadedonaana.com). This is a B&B with three rooms, but the owners also have two houses and three apartments (all fully furnished) they rent out.

You might also check with El Zopilote Mojado (www.elzopilotemojado.com), which is another B&B that also has apartments for rent.

Hi Laura,

The list I posted on the Guanajuato group will give you a start on looking for a place to rent. In my experience, the majority of the places posted on the Internet are a bit more expensive than what you can find in the Chopper (the weekly newspaper).

Please let me know if you have questions about Guanajuato that I can help you with. Also, if you find an apartment that looks interesting and you want to know about the area, I can try to give you some information.

Have a great time in Guanajuato!

Thank you Laura, I am a webmaster and I started this site with an old friend of mine, Jane Onstott, who is a professional travel writer and is actually the Mexico Guru - I am the webmaster guru. Everytime I post a new article I get itchy feet too. Right now I am in San Blas but in a week I am going to Ajijic then on to San Miguel de Allende where Jane is living. Have fun in Mexico!

Hola Laura,

I appreciate your generous praise. As an artist working alone in the studio everyday, I don't know what response my work will generate. It is a delight that others can feel some of the intent that I put into my paintings.

I have been accused of being either and/or both in the past. i actually got up and did a stand-up routine on two occassions. Once was a group of about 40 seniors, including my Mother, who said it had to all be clean material. The other time was on a cruise ship amateur nite in front of over 500 people. Luckily it was dark that time and I could'nt see how many people were staring up at the stage. I do write some poetry that's not at all funny if that's what you prefer.

Yes indeedy. I am now in San Miguel helping a friend with her B&B. Regrettably Oaxaca is just too far to go for a haircut, but when I go to visit my friend Elaine, I will schedule my trip around hair cut availability. I am loving it here, and no one I know or even have heard about, got the flu.
