- I came to San Miguel de Allende for 10 days two years ago and was so impressed by the city and the people I purchased a house and moved down a year later. Originally from Toronto I moved back and forth between Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver during which time I was working for CIBC and then in real estate. I always said I would move to Mexico when I was ready to retire. My aim was 55. I officially moved to SMA Sept 1/08 and had my 55th in my home in Mexico. This was one plan I actually managed to pull off. I am very happy to be here and enjoy everyday.
