I use the Nuevo Laredo crossing regularly. I always gas up in Laredo, spend the night in Laredo, then head into Mexico very early in the morning - I'm usually crossing the bridge by 7:00 am or earlier. No lines, no hassles. Be sure to stop off at th…
Hello, Neil.
If I remember correctly from when I lived in Monterrey, the two best border crossigs in the east are in Nuevo Laredo and Reynosa. Both have state of the art 4 lane toll highways conecting them to Monterrey. If you want a 2 lane road wi…
Thanks Mike!
Mexico Mike gets a high recommendation from me because he has a vast knowledge of Mexico, the travel routes and roads.
You can't go wrong with Mike. Just don't call him early in the morning because he's a late sleeper and he might be…
Neil,
I have been driving Mexico for about 30 years, making maps and road logs for drivers and advising people new to driving Mexico for many of those years. Everyone and his brother thinks of N. Laredo (or Columbia) as THE crossing. It is not the…
Check out the Columbia Crossing, about 15 miles north of Laredo. But make sure they are still letting cars through. I always cross there but I heard a rumor that they are switching to an "18-wheelers only". There's hardly every any traffic there and…
In about two weeks Sue and I are going to be crossing by car for the first time after driving down from Ottawa. Nuevo Laredo looks to be the most logical choice geographically but should I also be considering Hidalgo (Reynosa) or Browsville (Heroica…
Make your comments here about your experiences this year and/or in prior years on crossing the International Border into Mexico. Name the point of entry and give the date, as close as possible.

Tell us about yourself, type of business, last employment
I'm from London, England, and have spend the last year and a half travelling to 15 countries in search of a sunnier climate and a more relaxed way of life.
My last employment was as technical director of a London based creative digital agency called Cabinet UK. Cabinet designs and builds websites, develops interactive solutions and hosts its own print sales and image licensing system, PictureCabinet, used by many of London's top museums and art galeries.
Do you have any websites for your business or websites you wouldlike to refer someone to?
Neil,
I am a realtor in Puerto Penasco Mexico, (but my picture was taken in Canada!) We're located an hour south of the US border on the Sea of Cortez. Our water is clear and warm, we only get 2 inches of rain per year, 340 days of sunshine, Holland America and Carnival Cruise lines are planning to make this a port of destination, we have a newly constructed international airport and right now, our prices are ridiculously low. Please feel free to check out my website: www.RockyPointKim.com and get in touch if I can be of service at all.
Quebec is a great place, I'm sure you'll enjoy living there. Here's pretty good too!
Neil, Have you heard of San Carlos Sonora Mexico. It's a great place with many foreigners enjoying the weather and life style. 5 hours from the border of AZ. Beautiful water and weather is great. Check out my MX space profile. I have a video that shows the beauty of San Carlos. If you decide to come and take a look, I would be happy to show you around our little beach town. Pam
Last Saturday was my birthday and my friend and I set out on an adventure. No, I won’t tell you where, because it’s supposed to be the new last undiscovered paradise. And if I blog it, it won’t be undiscovered anymore and I won’t be able to afford m…
Thanks for posting, and you're absolutely right about Ceneval (the exam discussed in the original blog) needing to take us into consideration and also about the lack of training. I wish we had a mandatory exam, which would go something like this...Q…
Excellent article Carol. A couple of comments.. About licensingYES state licensing is the only way to go A while back a licensing law for B.C.S. was drafted and translated. ( Paid for by the two AMPI Sections.) It went to the state government and di…
