Hurrican Jimena Aftermath

Today my husband and myself with a group of volunteers from Sonora Is Safe and castawaykids went to San Jose de Guaymas. This town was hit with 6-7 ft of rain in their homes. Some homes have just fallen in and people are living under trees and what ever else they can make as some kind of shelter. Animals are dead everywhere, no water, no electricity. We handed out 700 bags of foo… Continue

Hurricane Jimena

Jimena hit San Carlos, Sonora Mexico with heavy rain fall for over 30 hours, reports of rain fall have been from 26” to 42”. The winds were reported the highest at 68 MPH. We had complete streets collapsed as well as boats in dry storage just float into the main boulevard. Power lines were down everywhere, trees uprooted. We have some comple… Continue

June 1, 2009 Passport reguirements in force

Rules Change in June on Entry to Canada, Mexico

The acting head of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency expects the June 1,2009 implementation of new documentation requirements for land crossings from Canada and Mexico will be smooth.
The reason?
U.S. citizens who don’t have the required documents will be given a sheet of paper telling them they are not in compliance and waved through. But the Customs and Border Protection agency won’t say how many days or weeks it will issue just a… Continue

Thanks, Pam. We have some wonderful property opportunities in the Manzanillo area. Such a lovely place - so peaceful, safe and currently flying under the radar! But, I imagine that things will continue to change as more and more people visit and learn about this spot of Mexico!
