"Although I've toured Brisas del Mar (checked out two of the rooms, rest of facilities), I've never stayed there. However, it looks like a very nice, upscale hotel. Attentive service. Very clean. Restaurant is pricey but food is…"
"Thanks for the trip report, Fred. Sounds like you had a great vacation. I'm heading down there in late March for a week. Staying at Hotel Irma on Playa La Madera. Will be at La Ropa often but definitely staying away from Tentaciones, Kau Kan.…"
Where exactly is Cinco Sentidos? On LaRopa or LaMadera? Looking at their website, the accommodations sure look nice! I'm going to have to take a look see at the place on my next trip to Zihuatanejo, probably at the end of…"
"Recently returned (Jan 8, 2011) from Zihuatanejo. Great weather, great food, great time! Love Playa La Ropa (try Paty's for breakfast) and Ixtapa Island. And yes, Coconuts is open in Centro. Also, try Don Memo's across the street for…"
A fun way to pick up some language skills, let's post our favorite Mexican sayings. I've actually gotten lots of vocabulary this way and you can amaze your Mexican friends with your knowledge of the culture.
"Thanks John and Fred for sharing. I do so very much appreciate it. Cinco Sentidos (I checked their website) looks very nice and inviting. Michoacan's coast sounds great (and unspoiled) as well. Both of you have given me something to think about…"
"Fred & John,
Thanks for the update.
Fred: I couldn't afford 1 day at The Tides (well I could but I'm too cheap to do so!). Anyway, where exactly is Cinco Sentidos in Playa La Madera--say from Il Ruffo's--and how do you get in…"
"Good report Fred. Your tastes in lodging and restaurants seems to be way above my pay grade. But next time I'm in Zihua (in late May), I'm going to make an effort to have lunch or dinner at Tentaciones and/or Kau-Kan. Also, I'm…"
"I did enjoy my stay (only a week). Way too short! I stayed in Playa La Madera beach area--Casa Sun & Moon (right next to Hotel Irma). Ocean view. Right on the beach. Walk to downtown (Centro) Nice! Ate breakfast most days at Il Ruffo's or…"
Thanks for the email Ray. You should probably expand it by a few sentences and post it in the Boomers Group. I was in Zihuatanejo on a Cruise stop a few years back. I really liked it then. I will probably hop around for a year or two starting next year, visiting some of our members. After that I will settle somewhere.
