It is so sad when one of your babies die. I greatly sympathize with your loss. How close is Teacapan to Mazatlan? My husband and I just took a cruise and Mazatlan was one of the ports we visited. I…

A question from a newbie: My husband and I plan to retire to Mexico in less than two years (maybe sooner if things go our way.) Is it possible to find a nice rental in SMA for $400/mo.? We would be apt to pay for either six/twelve months at once. D…

Can one live on $17-$18K per year in Chapala, Aijjic, or Mazatlan and have a decent standard of living? These are areas my husband and I are researching. I cannot find much info on rentals in Mazatlan. If you have any other suggestions, I'd be grate…

Sandy, I know a low cost rental built by a Mexican near my home in Callejon Valle de Maiz #5A 415 152 4606. Ash for NANCY because my hearing is not good for 'phone. I can introduce you to the potential landlord and offer a couple weeks rent free in our guest studio apt with kitchen, double bed, and separate entrance. Stay here while you search.

Hi Sandy,
Welcome. For your interest, we have a very active writers group (about 50 to 60 I think) in the Ajijic- Chapala area that meets at the Lake Chapala Society about once per month in the winter months. Let us know if we can help.
Cheers, Don & Linda

My husband and I are resident managers of a mini-storage here in Las Vegas. We fulltime RVed for four years until high gas prices and job losses forced us to quit. We recently cruised to the Mexican Riviera and I fell in love with Matzalan, particularly after talking to a Canadian expatriate couple.

I love to write and have completed one novel, started two others and have written a plethora of short-short and short stories.

Would love to 'pick your brains' about living in Mexico.

Thanks!
