Sorry, meant to add a little :) after explaining my name. The way it's written sounds a little caustic. Not my intention. (I'm just getting over the flu.)
If you have any questions, let me know. There's nothing like actually looking at the site however. You can run filtered searches (we have two types of interactive maps) and you can see the house sits that are currently available. Hope you have fun.
First of all, my name is Alex short for Alexandra. While I'll paraphrase a bit for you, I spent months writing all the information that answers your questions and it's all on www.HouseSitMexico.com. (Look at START HERE, a link in the upper left of the screen and the very extensive FAQ documents that are linked to in the bottom banners" . And HouseSitMexico serves ALL of Mexico. Membership is the same price for homeowners or house sitters (but homeowners can ALSO serve as house sitters too, if they see an assignment listing to visit a part of Mexico that appeals to them). A 3 month membership is $39US, and a year for $79US. We are currently offering a free membership to homeowners who will list an assignment soon. I already gave you a 20 percent off coupon code: MYSPACE20, which can be put in on the payment page to get the discount.
What is house sitting?
House sitting is typically a no-cash exchanged relationship in which a sitter receives a place to stay in exchange for keeping the home occupied and providing pet care while the owner is away, plus other responsibilities as required.
Why would anyone be a house sitter?
Living in a real home gives the experience of what living in Mexico is really like – and many sitters are exploring options for retirement. Other sitters are “remote workers” using the Internet, traveling the world. Many are already residents of Mexico, using their membership to both find a sitter and be one. And it’s a free place to stay.
Why should you want to have a sitter?
Pet care is the most common reason to have a sitter. Pets are happier and healthier at home. Security is the second most mentioned concern. In Mexico, just as the world over, an unoccupied home is more of a target for robbery. Home maintenance and emergency response (such as watering plants or tending to a broken pipe) are also reasons to have a sitter.
Hi, Ted! 'Not sure what "Lake Chapala Group" you refer to. My business is a membership website that connects residents anywhere in Mexico with house and pet sitters: www.HouseSitMexico.com. You're welcome to join! Interested? You're welcome to use a coupon code (MYSPACE20) for 20% off.
I have visited quite a few places in MX and that area is some of the best I think, for me anyway. I just want to live simply now and enjoy some relaxing life near the ocean. There are less restrictions there and fewer people too.
