Hi Reece,
I always considered myself a beach bum, but I moved to San Miguel over 6 years ago and love it. From central Mex I'm never all that far away to visit a beach when the urge strikes. Working visas can be a bit tricky depending on what you want to do and how the powers that be feel it will impact the local workers, but they are not impossible to obtain. Do you have an idea of the type of work you would eventually like to do? If not, no worries, ideas will present themselves once you're settled. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about life in SMA if it's an area you're considering in your search. Best -- and welcome.
I'm sure you are very proud of Contador, the winner of the prestigious Tour du France; a superb race and racer. This is a great site. Have you ever been to Puerto Vallarta or Mexico? We have many friends there from all over the globe. We welcome you as a friend.
Bienvenidos!

HI Reece, Welcome to my space mexico. Please join our bucerias group if you are interested. Bucerias is located 20 minutes North of Puerto Vallarta and is a lovely town with a great mix of Mexicans, Canadians and Americans. I notice you are from Spain. Do you spend time in Mexico?

I've never visited Spain but I hear it is a beautiful country. Perhaps once day I will have the time to do some traveling to your fair city. Welcome to Mexico-My Space.
yes we need to find work eventually but are ok for a couple of years yet. we dont want to live in a remote fishing village but not somewhere too busy plus safety is an issue as we have all heard about the horror stories in mexico, so somewhere in the middle is what were after not too hectic and not too quiet
Where you settle depends on your needs in life. Do you want to work and if so, in what capacity? There are visa questions to be resolved as well when you ask that question. What kind of lifestyle are you looking for? Since my husband and I are 62, the lifestyle we want probably isn't the same as yours. Check out the locations on our website, that should give you a clue. Then wait for others to comment. Also do your own research and find links on other forums. Question. Question. Question. And then visit each location before you even think about settling in.
'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the casa,
Not a creature was stirring -- Hijole! Que pasa?
Los ninos were tucked away in their camas,
Some in long underwear, some in piyamas,
While hanging the stockings with mucho cuidado
In hop...
For the first couple of years we lived in Mexico, my husband and I were confused when we heard the following:
¡'Pérame tantito! and "Porfa"
We later learned these are shorthand forms of ¡Espérame tantito!(Wait for me a minute) and "Por favor" (p...
Hi Carol,
Just a quick note to comment on your article. It's well written and highly informative. With the market these days we are not getting as many buyers using equity from their properties state-side to purchase their dream home outright and ...
