left SF Tuesday, 12:01am with clear skies. Headed for Ensenada, Mexico, our first
scheduled port. This was the first time seeing the Golden Gate Bridge, as the last trip 2
years ago was fog laden. We went through the potato patch (a rough area in the SF bar) an
hour or so later only to be pushed Northwest of our planed route by heavy seas. We finally
made the turn south with
overcast skies. Only 1400
miles to go. The night was
eventful as the skipper
became ill and had to turn
the helm over to m…

We went to Puerto Penasco, Rocky Point last week. The crowds are gone. It is perfect golf weather. The Mexican people were really glad to see us back. Nothing is crowded. You can walk you dog for miles on the beach. You can set in the sun and not get hot. No wait at the border going home.

I usually blog if I get asked a question several times. Someone has been searching one of my blogs with this question for several days, I guess that counts as being asked. At least next time he/she searches they’ll find something!
The smarty-pants answer would be: with difficulty.
When a non-Mexican pur…

This morning on Cabo Mil radio 96.3 FM, State Secretary of Tourism Alberto Trevino announced that the airstrip north of Cabo San Lucas has finally acheived status as an International aerodrome. This will make "Cabo San Lucas International" the fourth official international airport in Baja California Sur, giving the state the distinction of having two more than any other of Mexico's 31 states.
Part of the first year restriction will be that the airstrip can only receive charter flights, not regul…

Since events in the U.S. economy have negatively impacted the Baby Boomers’ retirement accounts, many nearing retirement age may have decided to put their retirement plans on hold. But there is another option: retiring off-shore. The lower cost of living in Mexico will allow you to retire in the lifestyle y…

Right on - "Founder Dude" - if you want me to open up a can of "whoop ass" on anyone, just let me know. I know how much time and work George puts into this site and ANYONE with the nerve to complain should be horse whipped or in the alternative, banned from the site or sent to the corner for recess.

I had a social network on one of my sites a few years ago. We had about a thousand members. I finally took it down when the stress of dealing with the ungrateful ones outweighed (in my opinion) the appreciation of those who were thankful for having somewhere to converse with like-minded people. Now it looks like George is getting some flack from people who don't appreciate the classifieds section. Here are my two cents.
I placed a free ad with MMS Classifieds touting my map-making and trip-plan…

MEXICO CITY IS ONE OF THE MOST FASCINATING CITIES IN THE WORLD. Perhaps because is ranked among the top 5 largest cities in the world, or because is the most cultural city worldwide because no where else are more museums?, or because is the heart of the Latin America economy?, or maybe because its beautiful neighborhoods and barrios?, or maybe because is called the City of the Palaces?, perhaps because its cosmopolitan life including bars, cantinas and restaurants for any kind of food?, or becau…

Yippee! I just got one of my favorite Baja weather phenomena: the end of summer. Unlike anywhere else I’ve lived, the end of summer here is not at all gradual. It happens at night, usually in the wee hours. You go to bed in the midst of summer and suddenly wake up freezing and searching for a blanket. J…

I am a 24 year veteran RE Broker in Cabo. I have heard that the Puerto Penasco AMPI group has absorbed a grass roots MLS type organization there and I wonder how that happened, what the logictics were, etc. I'd like to talk to a veteran there.
I helped start our local MLS and now the members who joined AMPI as well are interested in us merging. We are well along the negaotiating path, but I'd like input from any who have accomplished this and will gladly share our experience.
