I had a social network on one of my sites a few years ago. We had about a thousand members. I finally took it down when the stress of dealing with the ungrateful ones outweighed (in my opinion) the appreciation of those who were thankful for having somewhere to converse with like-minded people. Now it looks like George is getting some flack from people who don't appreciate the classifieds section. Here are my two cents.
I placed a free ad with MMS Classifieds touting my map-making…

MEXICO CITY IS ONE OF THE MOST FASCINATING CITIES IN THE WORLD. Perhaps because is ranked among the top 5 largest cities in the world, or because is the most cultural city worldwide because no where else are more museums?, or because is the heart of the Latin America economy?, or maybe because its beautiful neighborhoods and barrios?, or maybe because is called the City of the Palaces?, perhaps because its cosmopolitan life including bars, cantinas and restaurants for any kind of food?, or…

I am a 24 year veteran RE Broker in Cabo. I have heard that the Puerto Penasco AMPI group has absorbed a grass roots MLS type organization there and I wonder how that happened, what the logictics were, etc. I'd like to talk to a veteran there.
I helped start our local MLS and now the members who joined AMPI as well are interested in us merging. We are well along the negaotiating path, but I'd like input from any who have accomplished this and will gladly share our experience.

SALARIES IN MEXICO - HIGHEST PAID
The cost of living in Guadalajara is much lower than the USA - see my previous blog on this. But what many people don't realize is that also salaries are very low compared to the USA.
In a recent report from the Secretaria del Trabajo y Prevision Social, which got its date from a national survey on jobs (
www.empleo.gob.mx)the best paying job are in transportation…

THE BOOK IS COMPLETE
It's ready! I did it! I beat my deadline and completed my first e book! It wasn't easy, my computer started overheating, the internet went down just when I needed to send it to my webmaster, and my Adobe 8.0 just refused to let me secure the document.
My web designers are angels and have taken a lot of the load off of me.
Without the editing expertise of my husband Ira, I would never been able to meet the deadline. He is a professional editor, my…

The new coastal highway between Puerto Penasco and El Golfo de Santa Clara, and then the new "connector" between the coastal highway and Highway 2, just east of San Luis, is my destination. Actually, Yuma to see my friends Kathy and Lee is my destination, but this new route is exciting! I am told it will save an hour and a half from the "usual" route of Puerto Penasco to Sonoita/Lukeville to Gila Bend to Yuma, or the more adventurous route along the treacherous Mexico Highway 2 through the…

Cost of living in Guadalajara Oct. 2009 Wow – Mexico on 20 dollars a day? Yeah…right…I don’t think so – maybe back in the 50’s!!! But there is still a BIG difference between the cost of living in the US and Mexico. My daughter lives in San Jose (Silicon Valley) and believe me, there is a huge huge HUGE difference between Guadalajara (our Silicon Valley of the South!!!)
• Housing in Guadalajara ( I am NOT talking Chapala here I am talking the…

Is Your Medicare Advantage Plan Being Honest With You?

By: Patricia Barry | Source: AARP Bulletin Today | October 23, 2009
Nancy and Tom Henretty of Hilton, N.Y., could hardly believe their eyes when they opened a letter from their
Medicare Advantage health plan saying their monthly premiums would go up from $94 to $165 next year—a jump of $71 or 76 percent for each of them. But it was the…

I was reading my Google mail this morning and I saw an ad with the title, "Timeshare Fraud." It attracted my attention because I feel that I was a victim about 10 years ago in Mazatlan. I clicked on the ad and was taken to a very interesting website of the Mexican Law firm of "Gonzalez & Gonzalez." They are located in Zapopan, Jalisco.
I skimmed their website and found it very interesting. If the claims they make are true, then they…

Monarchs Crossing Mexico by the Thousands At last! Thousands and thousands of monarchs appeared across northern Mexico this week. Observers in the state of Coahuila say this is the best migration they’ve seen in years. Señora Rocío Treviño, who coordinates Mexico's migration-tracking program Correo Real, forwarded the news. She wrote late Tuesday night after her spectacular monarch-watching day:
