A Time to Witness
Five years ago I decided to leave the States and make San Miguel de Allende my full time home. I knew I would be in for major changes. Little could I have imagined how much my life, thoughts, philosophy and art would be influenced by living in Mexico.
I chose to live in a Mexican neighborhood. No gated, gringo communities for me. I'm right in the middle of the noise, color, street vendors, dogs and people who know every move I make. These warm and…

Astrological Profile
Aries (the ram) loves freedom, and will accept any challenge. You will get impatient if your ideas do not work out immediately and as expected. You are unwilling to follow someone else's suggestions, especially if they do not make sense to you. You often have excess energy which can make you aggressive. Arians are brave leaders who express care and concern for all they lead. However, an Arian as a follower is rare, and can be troublesome. Some Arians will act…

Most of the commercial videos used on MExico-My Space come from You Tube. You can go to http://www.youtube.com and perform a search for any artist in the world and probably find a video. I post videos from You Tube and it's very easy. You just open their site and there is a "searc" box at the top of the page. Type in the name of the artist you're interested in and click "Search." In a few seconds a list of the videos available through "You Tube"…

Those are the words from a song in the hit Boradway play of the Kennedy era;
Camelot. There hasn't been a whole lot of bliss this Spring. and the only ones that have gone astray are the hacks in the US media machine.
Well here we are almost at the end of May. It has been blessedly cool down here near the Tropic of Cancer. Can this be an omen? Will we not have the fifth season "summer hell"? Here in La Paz it has heated up to 100 and dropped down again. The mornings are…

The Little Shopkeepers
The tourists aren't coming and the little shopkeepers suffer. Mexico has many problems which cast a shadow on what were formerly happy times here. Spring Break was once a bustling time in Rosarito. The summers were generally good times for lots of tourists to visit. One of my favorite shops recently closed; a place where I used to buy cigars and chat with the owner. These are good people. The vast majority of Mexicans are good honest hard-working people who…

Tourism is not new to Baja California or the Rosarito area. The first tourists to visit Rosarito arrived around 1874 to hunt and fish, but it was another 52 years, in 1926, that the
Rosarito Beach Hotel was founded. The opening of this historic Hotel is generally credited with the beginning of the tourist period and was very much the forerunner in the development of the area.
During the 1940’s…
