Taste of Peñasco-Iron Chef

Saturday, Feb 15th, was the annual taste of Peñasco-Iron Chef competition. Another great sunny day in Rocky Point. A few of us AMPI members took turns sitting at the AMPI booth, bringing awareness that we are there and what AMPI does. I shot a video and here is the link to my blog where the video is.…

Tucson KOLD Channel 13 reports on Cruise Ship Home port

I am so happy that Dan Marries wrote this article and shared it. In the past, several years ago, have you Arizonans noticed that when the Phoenix and Tucson TV stations showed the weather, it showed Rocky Point on their map? They would refer to Rocky Point as having great weather for the weekend, etc. After all the bad press, that really hurt Arizonans, the downturn in the economy , here is the rest of what I wrote, then KOLD's report, and check out the…

Mexico's First Cruise Ship Home Port Ceremony in Rocky Point

I attended the large ceremony last week, on January 29th, the State of Sonora's Governor and other distinguished guests were here to give their support, comments on the economic impact etc. It was very informative. I shot a video of most of it, and took many photos. Puerto Peñasco-Rocky Point is getting back on the map. In fact for years, the Tucson and Phoenix TV stations covered the weather in Rocky Point, "it's a great day to run down to Rocky Point for the weekend", you would hear. That…

Mexico Crime Statistics

More on security in Mexico… This article was recently posted on www.hispanicvista.com, entitled, If facts don’t lie, is Mexico safer than the U.S.? Here comes Easter break again and young people will be young people – high school and college kids will travel to distant places where the drinking age is either less than it is in the U.S. or where authorities don’t care to enforce minors’ drinking laws. For several decades Mexico has been one such…

Hotel bookings in Tijuana, close to the border with California have fallen off catastrophically. Naturally the fall in demand has led to some great deals being available – but would it be foolish to take them up?

Frightening news…

As I am getting into a routine, and as I am getting settled in Puerto Vallarta, I am getting a kick out of different experiences, one of them is very unique. I am taking the bus, “camion”, back and forth from where I live and where I work.  I am very independent in nature, and have always had a…
